Lenovo has a new super-size smartphone tablet hybrid landing in the Indian market today. The 6.98-inch, let’s call that 7-inch, Lenovo Phab is a slightly cut down version of the Phab Plus that launched in India back in October 2015, and this model comes with a much reduced price tag. While the Phab Plus’ launch price was Rs. 18,490, this model costs just Rs. 11,999. Although it does come with a few compromises. The handset was originally unveiled during IFA 2015.
The Lenovo Phab features a 6.98-inch 1280 x 720 resolution display, which certainly won’t look the sharpest at this gargantuan size and is a notable drawback compared with the Plus model’s 1080p display. The phone is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC, accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded by a further 64GB with a microSD card.
The handset also comes with a 13 megpaixel rear camera with flash, a 5 megapixel front facing camera, 4G LTE support with a dual-SIM slot, FM radio compatibility, and Dolby Atmos audio technology. The Phab packs a huge 4,250mAh battery that is sure to offer plenty of battery life with these specs, and the device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
Tuxedo Black seems to be the Lenovo Phab’s only available color option in India, although the phone has been spotted in Polar White, Aqua Blue, and Cherry Red variants in other regions. So these may be available in the future. If the phone has caught your attention, you can currently pre-register for the April 21st FlipKart opening day sale, where only limited stock will be available.
