Samsung and LG flagship handsets have been quite similar for many years, but that’s certainly not the case this year. The newly-announced Galaxy S7 / Galaxy S7 Edge and the LG G5couldn’t be further apart from one another when it comes to design and feature set, but that’s not a bad thing at all.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are more iterative upgrades over their predecessors, with just a few minor tweaks and improvements thrown in. Both feature Quad HD Super AMOLED displays, either a Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8 Octa processor and 4GB of RAM, 12MP cameras with larger 1.4µm pixels, microSD expansion up to 200GB and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
The LG G5 on the other hand is the more experimental of the two, with LG going for a completely revamped design, software and hardware experience this time around. The G5 comes with a 5.3-inch LCD Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 16MP rear camera, microSD expansion up to 2TB and a modular design.
All three handsets bring a lot of different things to the table, so we’re sure not everyone out there will be in love with all three. Tell us — which smartphone at MWC 2016 impressed you the most? Is it the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge or LG G5?
